The latest version of Restorepoint builds upon the all new V5 foundation released in 2015. The following new features and improvements will begin rolling out from today to all current customers and evaluators.

New features include:

High Availability

If you need an automated disaster recovery option for your disaster recovery platform this is for you. High Availability mode is  now available using an add-on HA license that enables you to deploy a second appliance in standby. The secondary appliance is fully synchronised with the primary and will automatically take over if the primary is unavailable; all backups, compliance  analysis and other scheduled tasks will continue automatically. Should a failover occur, all your existing data, including device configurations, can be accessed from the secondary appliance.

Extended compliance checks using LUA applets

Restorepoint’s compliance engine can save you hours of auditing time by automatically checking your configurations against your build standards or security policies, every time a backup is taken. In addition to the existing Phrase, Regex and Template matches, in 5.1 we've introduced a powerful new option that uses LUA Applets. This new method allows you to write simple scripts using conditional logic and loops that can perform complex configuration analysis.

LDAP Integration

In addition to RADIUS and local accounts, you can now automatically synchronise users from an LDAP server such as Active Directory.

Flexible backup retention policies

Want smarter retention policies? No problem, now each of the backup schedules configured for a device can have its own retention policy.

Search configuration files

Seek and you will find. The new search bar on the configuration screen allows you to quickly find a string in a device configuration file.

Other new features and improvements include:

  • Unified configuration and runtime-based compliance policy interface
  • Clone Compliance policies
  • Clone Actions
  • Asset fields based on user-defined device commands
  • Pool licensing
  • PKA for generic push
  • Lightweight archive options
  • Fingerprint device tool
  • Display of logged-in users
  • Many more UI enhancements

The upgrade process is performed automatically on a rolling basis, unless your appliance is set not to install automatic updates or operates offline.
