Restorepoint 5.3 Released

Introducing a number of new features and updates to help you manage your network devices at scale

Highlights - New and Improved features included in this release:

For all Users:

  • Faster User Interface makes managing thousands of devices simple.
  • Restorepoint is now supported on Microsoft Hyper-V and Amazon AWS platforms.
  • Device Cloning - allows you to setup devices faster than ever. The cloning process copies the original settings including plugin, credentials, alerting settings, and backup schedule to new devices.
  • New Device Default Settings allows for system wide standardisation of Retention policies, Monitoring, Backup Failure Policies, and Alerting.
  • Device Templates support CSV input when pushing to multiple devices, allowing you to reconfigure standard device settings quickly.
  • Retention Policies can now be set globally, and include options to store (or delete) configurations based on length of time, i.e. do not delete configurations newer than 3 months, always delete after 12 months, etc.
  • Auto Export now allows you to automatically save sets of devices to different external servers.
  • Use Amazon S3 storage for both Restorepoint backups (Archiving), or as external storage for your device configurations

For Enterprise License users

  • Domain Licence Expiry - allows you to configure an expiry date for a Domain and optionally disable scheduled operations and prevent logins by domain admins.
  • Agents now support High Availability with auto-failover, allowing a second agent to resume operations if the Primary agent is unavailable.
  • Agents now support local storage of device configurations. This enables faster (local) access to larger configuration files, and is useful for service providers whose customers security policies require local storage of configuration files.
  • Agents now support Device discovery, so devices at a remote site can be found and setup within Restorepoint quickly
  • Agents now support Click-to-Terminal functionality, enabling administrators to connect to remote devices (via SSH or Telnet) using their web browser. Session Recording logs the transcripts of any actions performed.

Restorepoint 5.3 will be released as an automatic update to customers and evaluators on a rolling basis from the 28th of May 2018. A manual update will be required if your appliance is not connected to the Internet, or is setup for automatic updates.
