Restorepoint, a leader in network infrastructure automation, today announced an update to its flagship network security, compliance and remote management platform, introducing a range of key enhancements.

Restorepoint 5.2 now features additional functionality including global IP address searches, web browser access, and enhanced editing, reporting, backup management and automatic configuration export capabilities.

Available as a physical or virtual appliance, the automated solution provides disaster recovery, compliance and remote management for multi-vendor infrastructures, enabling businesses to seamlessly recall an entire network backup in the event of a user error or hardware failure.

Key new features and enhancements to Restorepoint 5.2 include:

  • Global search - quickly search an entire network for IP addresses – including old user accounts and binary/ TGZ configurations - across all devices
  • Click to launch terminal - web browser access to terminal-based devices via SSH and Telnet
  • Device control supports scripting - use LUA advanced editing applets to perform complex changes across multiple devices
  • Richer reports - a new reporting interface offers combined reporting and filtering capabilities
  • High availability management - agents can reconnect to Restorepoint appliances configured high availability systems to manage backups on remote sites (Enterprise edition only)
  • Automatic configuration export - send and export device configurations to other servers automatically
  • Add custom files to backups - include additional files, custom settings and documents to backups

Riccardo Valente, Restorepoint CTO, said: “Outages are one of the biggest fears in the tech world today, with 80 per cent of businesses concerned about unplanned network disruption.    Just one incident can have major repercussions for organizations in terms of costs, data loss and corporate reputation. Cybercrime, device failure and human error mean businesses are under intense pressure to maintain a stable and reliable network.

“By centralizing and automating multi-vendor network device management, labour-intensive tasks such as configuration backup and compliance checks, users can easily monitor network health and be ready to recover from an outage, minimizing downtime and associated costs.

“Our customers have become accustomed to expecting a superior service. With the latest update to our Restorepoint offering, we will continue to deliver optimum security, with the addition of a range of new and improved features that users will benefit greatly from.”

Key benefits of the solution include automated and centralized network security and protection from more than 60 vendors using AES encryption, almost instant data recovery and quick application of compliance policies to analyze configurations each time a backup is taken.

Restorepoint 5.2 also detects configuration changes and baseline violations, integrates with other applications through the JSON-based API and offers automated live network asset management, offers control over multiple devices, enhanced scalability using configuration templates, scheduled reports that present information such as device passwords and asset inventory, and improved rich assessments for strategic intelligence.
