New Restorepoint plugin enables automated backup for Tufin T-80, T-Series and SecureTrack Virtual Appliance

Restorepoint announces the general release of a new device plug-in to enable automated backup and rapid recovery for the Tufin T-80, Tufin T-Series and Tufin SecureTrack Virtual appliances.  With this release, Restorepoint now provides centralised, secure, simplified and automated backup for 38 leading network, security and storage vendors. Using the Restorepoint platform, which is available as a physical or virtual appliance, organisations can recover from hardware failures or the misconfiguration of network devices in minutes using just 3 clicks of a mouse. The Tufin plug-in enables organisations to protect the time and investment they have put in to setting up their Tufin Security Suite environment by automatically storing their Tufin configurations ready for rapid recovery.  

The Tufin plug-in is available from today and at no charge to customers with a current subscription. Tufin Full Backup Vs Configuration-Only Customers can choose whether to perform a full backup, or a configuration-only backup of their SecureTrack configuration. When choosing to make a Full Backup or Configuration-only backup customers need to consider the following factors: Tufin Configuration-Only: Enables users to backup their SecureTrack configuration and restore or rollback to a previous configuration containing:

• All settings, including: Users, Domains, Zones, Tufin Licenses, TOP plugins
• Policy Analysis Queries
• Reports and Audit Definitions
• Performance Alerts
• Topology

When restoring from a configuration-only backup, the following will need to be redefined:

• Rule Change Reports
• Security Risk report exceptions
• SecureChange Access Requests

Tufin Full Backup: Allows customers to take a full backup of their SecureTrack database containing:

• All settings, including: Users, Domains, Zones, Tufin Licenses, TOP plugins
• Policy Analysis Queries
• Reports and Audit Definitions
• Performance Alerts
• Topology
• Policy Revisions
• Revision Comments
• Automatic Policy Generator Data Rule Documentation
• Rule and Object Usage Data
• Firewall OS Monitoring Data
• Published Reports
• Plug-n-Play License Information
